The Teenage Brain

As a teenager, learning about the brain, its parts, purpose and functions is of very significance. The videos I watched in class helped me understand every aspect of the brain and how it is important to us. Every part the brain is made up of, has a specific function that has to do with our thinking and the ways we act. I learned that the brain is the one who gets the image of what we see and interprets it as it pleases. The teenage brain, is a brain that is developing and comes up with new ideas, questions and purposes every day. Since we are growing each day, the brain, from being immature, begins to develop and become more mature. For our brain to function correctly for the day, it must get the right amount of rest and sleep. 8-9 hours a day of continuos sleep is the necessary amount needed. I do not get the right amount of sleep during school days, since I wake up early to go to school, then have extra curricular meetings or soccer, later I go to French classes and even sometimes tutoring, I return home at 7-8pm each day and afterwards I have to have dinner and do plenty of homework, so I end up sleeping very late and waking up very early to get ready for my day. After this video, I would recommend myself a schedule for everyday, so I may decrease my level of activity and the time it takes for me to accomplish it, so I may have the proper and adequate time for sleeping. Regarding our parents and the video, I think parents do not understand us, but want the best for us. We have constant discussions with them because we think they do not understand what we want or the way we live our life, but that is not true, they know more than anybody else what is good for us and what is not; the problem is we do not want to accept it. I used to have daily discussions with my parents for over a year, but since halfway last year, I have been maturing and knowing what is good and what is not good and how they do the best they can to help me. I love my parents and I am certain they want no more than the best for my siblings and me. This video was of much importance for me because it helped me understand things I did not want to understand before.
